Merge duplicate orders into one
On the Merge plan, turn a duplicate group into one order to ship, undo it before it ships, or let auto-merge handle high-confidence groups.

1Merge a group
Open a duplicate group and choose Merge. OrderMerge shows a preview from Shopify first: the items, the ship-to address, the shipping line and the total. Opening the preview changes nothing.
Confirm, and OrderMerge creates one new order for your warehouse to ship. It lists every item from the originals at $0, tagged ordermerge:merged, with a note naming the orders it came from. The originals are held, tagged and noted, never edited or cancelled.
2Ship the merged order
Your 3PL ships the merged order like any other. When it's fulfilled, OrderMerge fulfills the original orders with the same tracking, so the customer gets Shopify's shipping email on their real orders and stock moves once.
The merged order has no customer attached, so Shopify sends the customer no extra emails about it.
3Undo a merge
Until the merged order ships, Undo cancels it and puts everything back: holds, tags and the note return to how they were before the merge.
4Auto-merge high-confidence groups
In Settings, turn on auto-merge and choose the window (orders placed within N minutes), when it runs (right away, after a delay, or once a day) and any tags to exclude. It only merges groups where the orders share the shipping address and the customer account or email.
For the first 7 days it's a dry run: Settings shows what it would have merged, and nothing changes in Shopify. After that, each merge appears in history with Undo, and the Orders merged Flow trigger fires.
5What it means for reports
The merged order totals $0, so revenue, tax and shipping aren't counted twice. It still counts as an order, so order count goes up by one per merge and average order value goes down a little. Filter reports on the ordermerge:merged tag to leave merged orders out.
Merging needs the customer's name for the shipping label.
Try it on your store. The Free plan starts catching duplicates right away.
